STORY

Picking up several minutes after the previous title, you are confronted by Lupine and Daisy who demand an explanation for Dahlia’s spontaneous ‘make me a woman’ comment. Dahlia clears it up by saying she meant to ask for advice on how to act more feminine. Veronica adds that Dahlia is trying to vanquish a monster who preys on women and children. If Dahlia can acquire more feminine traits, she can seduce it and then defeat it. You agree to help and the madness begins.

Dahlia starts calling you ‘Master’, she starts working at the tavern in order to learn from Lupine and Daisy, she gets into fights with customers. The entire thing is very cute and humorous watching this knight deal with disgruntled customers.

GRAPHICS

The game reuses backgrounds and sprites from the previous title. The character designs remain top tier with cute designs for Lupine and Daisy and mature and sexy for Veronica and Dahlia. The sprites have limited poses but a variety of facial expressions. Just like the previous title, sprites have a 3D feel to them with slight idle movements, head tilting, lip motions and eye blinking. Veronica’s tits sway up and down hypnotically.

The game’s richly detailed backgrounds allow it to use the zoom-in trick without the background’s quality suffering. Frequently the game will rotate the camera and give you a good view of how beautiful the artwork is. It makes the game feel livelier.

MUSIC

Most of the previous title’s soundtrack is used here. Songs use original instruments like the xylophone, flute and keyboard.

Music is cleverly placed to add another layer of fun and authenticity to the actions taking place onscreen. There is a song for every kind of occasion. The soft, intimate tracks are wholesome to listen to while the zany and wild tracks are upbeat and make you want to play more. The lack of any new music is a little disappointing.

SOUND EFFECTS AND VOICE ACTING (SFX)

Once again, the game is fully voiced with Rin Mitaka and Mochi Morisawa returning to play Lupine and Daisy. Dahlia and Veronica are given more focus as well. The vocal performance by the entire cast is great. The actresses know their stuff and know how to make the player hard for them. Dahlia is especially cute as the prim and proper knight with zero sexual experience. The development and romance Dahlia and your character go through is delivered expertly.

Sound effects include sword swipes, thuds, magical sparkles and loads of various impact noises and abstract anime noises.

GAMEPLAY

Fantasy Tavern Sextet is a visual novel game. You navigate by clicking the screen and “turning the page” to advance the story. Every now and again you will be presented with a choice. These decisions help build your relationship with the main heroines. Certain choices unlock certain sex scenes, so you have to go back to unlock them all. Choices have no other consequential impact on the rest of the game.

You can use the multiple save slots to make it easier to get all the endings. You can view unlocked CGs in the Gallery menu. You can use the ‘Skip’ and ‘Auto’ buttons in and fap in between scenes.

In this title, you are charming Dahlia and Veronica. The romance with Dahlia feels more organic but the sex you have with both girls is very romantic, even beautiful. It’s cute seeing the teasing Veronica become nervous and self-conscious after falling in love. When Dahlia asks you to stay with her instead, you feel both crushed because of Lupine and Daisy, but also genuinely appreciative for how much your relationship has developed.
